Dialer Vault Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Dialer Vault handles information when you use the app. Dialer Vault is designed as a secure, local-first utility disguised as a fully functional phone dialer that allows you to encrypt and hide private photos, videos, and documents behind a secret passcode.

We value your privacy above all else. Dialer Vault operates strictly offline on your physical device, ensuring that your hidden files, passcode hashes, and security recovery answers remain private, encrypted, and secure under your direct control.

2. Developer and Contact Information

App name: Dialer Vault: Photo Video Hider

Package ID: com.dialer.dialervault

Contact email: anoopchandra@silentrend.com

3. Information Stored and Collected

Because Dialer Vault is an offline local-first application, we prioritize your privacy by keeping your data on your device. We do not maintain external servers for your user data.

Stored locally on your device:

  • Photos, videos, and other media files imported and encrypted inside the vault's private sandboxed database.
  • Your master passcode PIN (stored securely using PBKDF2 hashing in Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).
  • Security recovery question and answer hash (used solely for local passcode resets).
  • App preferences (such as biometrics settings or list/grid display choices).
  • Your dialer settings and preferences.

Collected or Transmitted to Servers:

  • None. The application does not collect, transmit, upload, or sync any of your personal data, media, passcode details, or logs to any external server or third-party service. All file encryption, rendering, and passcode checks are performed locally on your physical device.
Important Data Note: Since Dialer Vault does not sync or back up your data to any server, if you uninstall the app, clear its data, or lose access to your passcode and recovery questions, your encrypted vault files cannot be recovered. Please ensure you restore files back to the public gallery before uninstalling.

4. Location Data Handling

Dialer Vault does not request, collect, process, or track your device location. No location features or mapping SDKs are included in the app.

5. Permissions and Device Access

To perform its core functions as a phone dialer disguise and secure file vault, the app requests standard device access:

  • Read/Write Storage & Media Permissions: Required to select and import files or images from your device's external storage into the app's private sandboxed directory, and to export (restore) them back.
  • Phone & Calling Permissions: Used solely to initiate phone calls when using the app as a daily dialer pad.
  • Biometric Hardware Access (Fingerprint/Face Unlock): Optional permission used solely to verify your identity locally to unlock the vault.

The app does not request access to location, microphone, or other unrelated device permissions.

6. How Data Is Used

Your local media files and folders are used solely to display your materials within the application, manage your folders, and decrypt files for viewing.

Your passcode PIN is used solely to authenticate your access when opening the vault.

No data is used for advertisements, user tracking, or third-party marketing.

7. Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not share any data with third parties.

The app does not include any third-party SDKs, analytics packages, trackers, or advertising platforms.

Any external actions, such as opening a video in a system-default player, are handled through standard Android Intents, which ensure that other applications can only read the specific decrypted files you choose to open.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

All notes, files, and passcode details remain on your device until:

  • You delete a file within the app (which permanently removes it from the app's sandbox directory).
  • You uninstall the app or clear the app's storage in your device settings (which deletes all stored files and your passcode PIN from the device).

9. Security

The app secures your data using Android's built-in application-level sandboxing, which prevents other applications on your device from accessing Dialer Vault's internal files directory.

The vault features a robust encryption layer that wraps imported files, protecting them from unauthorized file browsing.

10. Children's Privacy

Dialer Vault does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. It is safe for use by individuals of all ages.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated if app features, data handling practices, or Google Play store policy requirements change. You are advised to review this page periodically for any updates.
